With the release of keytech 12 .NET the now common ribbon technology is available to keytech users. Almost all Microsoft products are released with this style which many software developers adapted. The consistent appearance results in better orientation for the user in a „familiar” environment.

 

2. Support of latest CAD versions

New CAD versions like SolidWorks 2011, Inventor 2012 or AutoCAD 2011 are already or almost released. To use our PLM system with the latest CAD versions it is necessary to switch to a recent keytech release. keytech 10 customers for example do not have any support for SolidWorks 2010/2011 or Inventor 2010/2011/2012.

 

3. Improved performance

Of course we are continuously working to improve the performance of our products. We are also making use of the innovations of the CAD software developers. We adopt new functions like the partial loading of components in future product developments and with that we achieve a performance improvement in the PLM environment.

 

4. Integrated DMS

With the release of keytech 12 .NET there is a major focus on the topic „Document Management System“ (DMS). Company wide colaboration with only one software solution always was a partial goal of keytech from the early development. Meanwhile the technical information system (TIS) has become a PLM system with full DMS functionalities. Besides e-mail management and audit-proof archiving keytech supports also intelligent document scanning.

 

5. Extract of new functions in keytech 12 .NET

This last point provides multiple reasons for an update:

 

• keytech saves more user preferences than before. It memorizes the personal setting of the search result display, the chosen design, the window size and window allocation and the recently used elements automatically.
• keytech offers a sophisticated integration in your e-mail system. You can send e-mails from keytech and attach shortcuts, which allow the recipient to open the element in keytech. Create a folder for a project in Microsoft Office Outlook and save the received e-mails with one-click directly in your project folder in keytech. 
• keytech combines the sections project management, task scheduling and e-mail integration
• New print functions enable a textual display/output of the respectively displayed document, item or project structure. Thereby the display size (expansion status of single structure nodes) is regarded. So structure information e.g. for inspection or for product documentation/presentation is released. 
• Global search is an integrated part of the keytech interface now. According to the chosen setting item, document and folder attributes are searched for the entered keyword. Optionally the search can be extended to file content in the keytech vaults
