keytech SP 5 is now available

As we announced in September, Service Pack 5 for keytech .NET is now available. Below are some of the new features in Service Pack 5:

 

keytech viewer (External Red Line Viewer for PDF Documents)

With Service Pack 5, keytech is providing the system architecture for a new text mark-up option. This is a newer, more efficient, high-performance viewer, which gives you various options to edit, enhance or mark up project documents by red lining.

 

Save Emails as Documents

As many customers have requested, with Service Pack 5 you now have the option to manage emails as documents in keytech. Now, you can not only organize project-specific emails with the folder module, but you can also organize emails as individual documents.

 

Multi-Language for SolidWorks

As companies become more international, it becomes more important that installed software is able to support different languages. With Service Pack 5 for keytech .NET we offer automatic drawing annotation translation and the generation of neutral file formats. keytech automatically recognizes which annotations are to be translated. You can generate foreign language documents automatically or as needed.

 

CATIA V5 Integration

In keytech you can completely manage 2D drawings as well as referenced CATIA 3D model structures. Besides managing documents in keytech .NET, CATIA V5 integration also still manages bills of material and the drawing block.

 

EPLAN P8 Interface

The keytech EPLAN integration with keytech .NET Service Pack 5, still gives you the option to archive projects, to extract bills of material from a current EPLAN project and to coordinate items with your EPLAN database. With status management you can manage your projects in line with your quality control management.

 

Support of XREFs in AutoCAD

You can organize teamwork in AutoCAD by using external references.  You want to be able to access external data without being responsible for the work on it. keytech supports this with the new Service Pack 5 XREFs in AutoCAD. These external references are insertion points in a drawing where the external points in a drawing can be seen. If the external drawing changes, XREF ensures that the data can continue to be updated.

 

Select Bins

This new feature allows you to collect different elements (documents, folders, articles) and this then allows you to carry out bulk operations. You will find the select bins in “My keytech” under “My Select Bins”. Here you can also create personal select bins to fill with elements.

To do this you can either drag and drop elements or use the function “Copy and Paste” from existing structures, for example.

 

Class List of Characteristics (CLC)

The structured filing of articles makes searching faster and drastically increases the reuse of available parts and assemblies. Using available components not only can save you almost 100% of you design time but also a significant portion of your production costs. Grouping (classifying) keytech elements like articles, documents and folders is also possible as is searching by CLC class.

The Class List of Characteristics in keytech .NET gives you an even more precise way   to combine elements with keytech information.

 

Mass Calculation in SolidWorks and CATIA

The Mass Calculation is used to determine weights of assemblies and individual parts based on the keytech bill of materials. This calculation is carried out using CAD-Volumina and keytech materials, as well as user-defined input. When you save the individual components the corresponding weights are determined. The calculation of the assembly weight follows “On Demand” by the user or automatically when it is transferred into the keytech metadata.

 

Extra Menu

With the Extra Menu functionality you can create your own ribbons.
This gives you the possibility to integrate your own functions and buttons into existing ribbons, context menus or the symbol ribbon for easy access to the Quick Menu. For example, external applications can be referred to from keytech.

 

Integration of a new PDF Viewer

We have substantially increased the performance of the PDF preview with a new PDF Viewer. 

 

CATIA V5 and EPLAN P8 Interface

CATIA V5 and EPLAN P8 interfaces are also available in keytech .NET with the new Service Pack 5.
